Full of Charity works from Barangay Mabolo on the First Sunday of June

Alagad sa Dios community feeds the needy of Barangay Mabolo
The first Sunday of June was celebrated with charity works from the church grounds and on the streets of Barangay Mabolo as various groups did an apostolic mission to the poor. The first good thing to see on a warm and relaxed Sunday was the absence of heavy traffic jams. You can see the stretch of a street on a clear sunny day with just a handful of vehicles.

What makes the day a bit brighter is that various organizations and groups are hand in hand helping the needy. The Alagad sa Dios Community did an apostolic work again in feeding the poor at the ground of St. Joseph the Patriarch Parish. This is a weekly activity of the group in cooperation with the project of his eminence Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal named “Libreng Paniudto Kada Domingo” (“Free Lunch Every Sunday). The Alagad sa Dios community together with Fr. Joy Danao (one of the Parish Priests of Mabolo) were serving dozens of needy people on all age groups giving them a free meal accompanied with songs of praise (video here). (More Pictures Here)
USC Lions Club held a garage sale for fund raising campaign

Another good and enticing scene on the Mabolo Church grounds was on the Stage, were the USC Lions Club held a “Garage Sale” of various items. A handful of quality items were sold by the group at a very low price as they held a fund raising campaign to help the poor.   As I interviewed one of the members of the USC Lions Club, she said that they held this activity twice a year. Fellow Mabolohanons also rush to the scene to take advantage of the Garage sale. (More Pictures Here)

Indian Hindis giving food and drinks on the streets
The last but not the least and most beautiful to see was the sight of our fellow Hindu brothers as they gave free food and drinks on the intersection of Gochan and S. Cabahug streets. People from the barrios flocked to the scene to benefit from the event. Asking them (the Hindis) why they were doing it, they said it is the annual feast of their temple, the Cebu Indian Hindu Temple, Inc. located on Gochan Street of Barangay Mabolo held every first Sunday of June every year.(More Pictures Here)
